It turns out that /usr/sbin/tar on my Solaris 10 system is not statically linked (there is no /usr/sbin/static, and I checked ldd tar). Does anyone know where I can get a statically-linked tar, or should I just suck it up and copy all of the library dependencies over? I can script that; I'm just annoyed that I have to.<br>

I had to do that once some years back because of some Solaris bug that<br>
prevented me from untaring.<br>

It only takes a few minutes and saves a lot of time in the long run<br>
trying to figure out the Solaris tar equivalents of the GNU tar<br>
commands you're used to.<br>
